The tower, which was built in 1897 along with the church, has been subject to all kinds of rumors around town - including one that the tower would have to be torn down because it was structurally deficient. Martha E. Baldwin, 87, of Hummelstown died Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Born August 4, 1921 in Harrisburg, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Martha (Minick) Schreffler. Edward r. Bonnette
Edward R. Bonnette, 88, of Hershey, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Nashua, NH, on Dec. 10, 1920, he was the son of the late Raoul A. and Alma D. Bonnette. Ed was a retired teletype setter. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served as a French interpreter in World War II and was on Normandy Beach during the invasion. Full Story
